Use groovy script to enter a value into an asset property

Hello all,

Does any one know if it is possible to use a groovy script to automatically enter data into an asset property?

I want to automatically read the model name, and enter it as a property.  This will allow me to use dynamic asset grouping to create at least a single group for a specific model.  I may eventually break this up more, but this is a good place for me to start.
