AT&T Connection Kit, Part 2 of 4: Exploring the AT&T Sample Application

Exploring the AT&T Connection Kit Sample Application

This is Part-2 of a 4-part tutorial that illustrates how to configure the AT&T Connection Kit for Application Developers to communicate with the Axeda Platform. This tutorial assumes that you have received the AT&T Enabled kit from M2M.com using the Ericsson module set and have successfully completed the AT&T/Ericsson tutorial to assure that the reference device is correctly configured and installed on your PC. Additional parts of this tutorial include:

In this section you will explore a sample Rich Internet Application (RIA) that has been built on the Axeda Platform. We’ve designed a simple application to demonstrate the power of combining dynamic M2M data from the Axeda Platform with a front-end presentation layer. In the next sections, you will be using the AT&T Connectivity Kit as a conected asset to collect data and then interact with the platform itself, to process it.

Step-1: Launch the AT&T Sample Application (Register to enable the link for the Sample Application)

Note: You will be asked to log in to the sample application. Please do so using your Axeda Developer Connection credentials (registration e-mail and password).

As the sample application starts up, you will see a Web based dashboard in your browser window similar to the one shown in the image below.

AT&T Get Started Sample App

This sample application includes:
A map showing the location of your asset (we have located our "ATTDevAsset" based on the zip/postal code that you supplied as part of the registration process),
  • A data-chart showing a series of data points that have been previously logged to the Platform
  • A series of tabs that we will be populating with data as part of this exercise
  • An area that will allow you to send a message to the AT&T Connection Kit.  You will notice this area is disabled right now.

Now that you are familiar with the sample application and ready to continue, let's learn how an asset communicates with Axeda Platform.
